Q. My library account is expiring but my contract has been extended / I have a course deadline extension. Can I still use the library?

Answer

It is the responsibility of your faculty to update the records on when you will graduate or finish your contract. Once this has been updated with the university, it will also be updated by Library Services.

In the meantime, if your library account has expired -

  • You will be able to use the library on production of your student card until 31st July. Your card may have stopped working for building access, but you will be able to sign in at the Arts & Social Sciences library or the Wills Memorial library by showing your U-card to a member of staff at the desk. This only applies during staffed opening hours (please see the webpages for details).

  • You won't be able to borrow any more books once your library account has expired, but you can browse and read materials within the library itself. You will not be penalised for any items you have on loan.

  • Access to email and library e-resources will remain active until such time as you are de-registered, which (unless your end-date is extended) usually takes place in August.
